5 Key Principles to Position Yourself for Purpose

5 Key Principles to Position Yourself for Purpose

The old saying goes, “if you want something bad enough you have to do what it takes to get it!” As true as this is and easy as it may sound, there are many women, who are still stuck in a rut, going no where fast. I am a firm believer of taking risks toward getting all that God has for me. It is very evident as I left an unhealthy relationship, left my hometown, walked away from my first home, becoming an entrepreneur, and most importantly, giving my life to the Lord. However, I couldn’t have done it without positioning myself.

When discovering one’s purpose, it is no different. You have to position yourself for purpose, otherwise you will miss all that God has for you. Allow me to share 5 Key Principles that empowered me and will help you to Position Yourself for Purpose.

THINK IT!

Your thoughts are what set things in motion, SIMPLY PUT! Whatever you think, will eventually lead to your actions. The Bible says to “Set your things on things that are above and not on things that are on the earth” (Colossians 3:2). This means to THINK that you have something GREAT on the inside of you! You have to think that you deserve what God has purposed and planned for you to do. Secondly, we have to be willing to conform our thoughts to transform into being (Romans 12:2). Get into the Word of God and discern what He is speaking to you, and allow Him to conform your will to His will and transform your mind according to His will so that your thoughts align to His thoughts for your life. If you think you don’t have what it takes, you won’t do what it takes!

SPEAK IT!

God gave me the gift to gab and I love using it! I have been known for speaking the truth not only in the lives of others, but in my own life. There is just something about speaking and releasing your thoughts. The problem is we have to be careful to speak LIFE and not death (Proverbs 18:21). Many women have low self-esteem because of hurtful words that were spoken over their lives. Often times the most damaging words are the self-sabotaging words that we speak in our own lives. You have to speak positively about what you’re seeking God for, encourage yourself in the midst of of setbacks, and share your vision with those that you KNOW will support you and finally, you have to say to yourself, that I CAN DO ALL THAT GOD SAYS I CAN DO! (Philippians 4:13) Cased Closed!

BELIEVE IT!

We have to be careful to not allow minor setbacks to detour us. Disappointments are a fact of life, but in those disappointments, God is testing your faith. You have to know that you know, that God will do what He said He would do (Numbers 23:19). You have to stay focused and trust God, just don’t believe that He can, believe that He will. Even when things don’t feel or look right, keep believing that everything is working together for your good (Romans 8:28).

SEE IT!

When God is moving in your life, you may not see the whole picture. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I want to see it now. It is not because I don’t trust God, it is because I get excited when He shows me glimpses of the plan He is working out for me. However, He knows what is best and He wants you to faith in what you don’t see (Hebrews 11:1), but in Who is working it out! This requires patience, patience and MORE patience! We have to envision what God has for us, with our Spiritual eyes. When you begin to see things the way God sees them, you will begin to move toward it!

BE IT!

You have been CHOSEN to do His great work! (1 Peter 2:9-10) God knew you before you were formed (Jeremiah 1:5), He knew your potential and wants to use you, YES YOU! Do I really need to say more? OK, I really do, because I don’t think you get it! Let me say it again, YOU WERE CHOSEN! God has placed the seed on the inside you and it is YOUR responsibility to sow with that seed. In practical terms, you have to WORK what your Daddy gave you! Utilize the gifts, talents, and abilities that you have to take action!

Position yourself for purpose and to prosper in all that God has for You!
