Peveler demonstrates on prolonged job with Highland, welcomes Brackin as new principal | Regional Information

Leaving Highland Elementary University is bittersweet for Leslie Peveler.

She has labored at the faculty on and off for the past 26 years but she will commence her new job as the Daviess County Public Educational facilities director of elementary education and learning and multi-tiered process of help coordinator beginning July 1.

Ahead of Peveler became principal at Highland in 2012, she served as the school’s assistant principal.

But her history with the university goes deeper.

Prior to her principal roles, she was a staff developer and a teacher there, and prolonged just before that she walked the halls as a university student.

Highland is a next dwelling for her, and she considers the school’s college students and team section of her family members.

In her new placement as director of elementary education, Peveler will be accountable for collaborating with the superintendent, assistant superintendent for instructing and mastering and the board of education in serving as the key leader for all factors of the DCPS elementary university system.

She’ll also be certain academic expansion and on-quality-stage overall performance of college students in grades K-5, and will evaluate assessment details for the goal of influencing faculty enhancement.

In her job as the MTSS coordinator, Peveler will work with the district leadership team to create and watch the MTSS implementation.

Peveler stated these two roles go “hand-in-hand” for the reason that they both offer with specifically figuring out university student needs.

Kristy Brackin, latest DCPS college student services coordinator, has been tapped to be the subsequent Highland principal, a position she will presume July 1. Brackin and her children both equally attended Highland, and she is energized to return in leadership job.

She done her principal certification reports at the University of the Cumberlands. She was awarded the Larry Hager Provider Higher than Self Award from the Owensboro Rotary Club in 2003 and was the DCPS Alpha Delta Kappa honoree in 2017.

Brackin began her education occupation as a pupil-trainer at Philpot Elementary College in 2002. She taught at Newton Parrish and Meadow Lands elementary educational facilities.
