Linda Dockery shed her battle to most cancers but not just before touching countless numbers of lives and eternally leaving her mark on those people who cherished her most and whose enjoy she returned a thousand periods about-her loved ones.

Linda was a lifelong educator and whilst her bio highlights vital milestones in her vocation, they do not mirror the many hugs and high fives she handed out to students, the tears she wiped absent, the younger lecturers she mentored, the guidance workers she advocated for and the colleagues whose successes she cheered on.

Linda grew up in Syracuse, NE in which she graduated from large university and went on to generate a Bachelors of Music Schooling from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1968. Her career as an educator started in Everly and Strawberry Level, Iowa in which she fulfilled and married Duane Bolt, an enlisted soldier in the Army. They were soon deployed to Japan wherever their son, Jason, was born. She taught for the Division of Protection just before returning stateside to Fort Carson, Colorado in which their daughter Rachel was born. They then moved to Walthill, NE in which Linda directed Nebraska’s initially European Youth Choral.

Just after divorcing, Linda and her young children moved to Ralston, NE in 1979 and she began teaching in their community school technique. Although there, she attended faculty herself and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 1984 with a Masters in Education and learning Administration.

Her initially principalship was in 1984 at St. Paul Elementary University in St. Paul, NE. From there she and the young children moved to York, NE in 1987 in which she became the elementary principal at Lincoln Elementary Faculty. Even though serving in that capability, she was the Chairwoman of the Nebraska Council of University Administrators and was preferred in 1993 as the Countrywide Elementary Principal of the calendar year for the state of Nebraska.

In 1995 she moved to Prince William County, Virginia outdoors of Washington D.C. wherever she remained right until her retirement in 2009. Throughout her tenure there, her university, Featherstone Elementary, was designated a School of Excellence in 2003.

Although residing in Virginia, she fulfilled and married her forever adore, Jim Dockery. Jointly they constructed a daily life that served as a design for other individuals and a reminder that God does without a doubt solution prayers. They purchased a seashore household at the Outer Banking institutions in North Carolina that was enjoyed by good friends and loved ones for numerous several years. The time that Jim and Linda invested there inspired their like of shorelines and they traveled to quite a few above the years…Cancun, Hawaii, Turks and Caicos, Grand Cayman, and quite a few other folks during the Caribbean.

When they were not touring someplace unique, you may well have identified them seeing a Broadway musical at the Kennedy Heart, at the Lied Middle listed here in Lincoln, or the Orpheum in Omaha. And they never ever missed an possibility to cheer on their favorited teams, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Philadelphia Eagles.

In 2012 they had been the two retired so they moved to Nebraska to be nearer to relatives-particularly their grandchildren whose activities they cherished attending and whose lives they felt grateful to be a component. Linda’s daily life in Nebraska was filled with the factors and people today she liked. She liked residing at their house in Woodland Hills and worked tirelessly to decorate it. She put in many hrs volunteering with the Backpack plan by her church, First Plymouth, and savored sharing her talents on stage of the Lincoln Community Playhouse.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Jim Dockery, her young children and their families: Jason and Alexia Bolt-Harrison, Warner, and Scarlett, and Willis and Rachel Scofield-Ashlyn, Ella, Addison, Wyatt and good-grandson Drew, her brother and sister-in-regulation, Dale and Nancy Kruse, and her nieces, Dacia and Tai. She will stay forever in the hearts of individuals she beloved and who liked her.

In lieu of bouquets, donations can be created to the Lincoln Food Bank or The American Most cancers Modern society. Linda’s Celebration of Everyday living will be July 14th 11:00 a.m. at Very first Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln, NE and her interment is July 15th 11:00 a.m. at Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, NE.
