CHESHIRE, CT (WFSB) – A team of parents screaming for the governor to “unmask our young children” interrupted a university assembly in Cheshire.

Gov. Ned Lamont joined educators and general public well being officials on Wednesday for a discussion about the new university 12 months.

The assembly was meant to unify a program to get college students back again in the classroom, but it ended abruptly soon after parents who will not want their children to don masks showed up to express their views.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) – A suspect was taken into custody Wednesday just after a person pupil was fatally shot at a North Carolina substantial college, officials stated.

Winston-Salem police Main Catrina Thompson, battling back again tears, told a news conference that Mount Tabor Significant School went into speedy lockdown as unexpected emergency responders, sheriff’s deputies and police officers arrived just soon after midday to research for the suspect, who she explained was believed to be a pupil at the college.

Midland County added 65 new COVID-19 cases and one death between Tuesday, Aug. 31, and Wednesday, Sept. 1.

COVID-19 numbers reported from Aug. 31-Sept. 1

Midland County: 65 cases and one death were added; pandemic total is 7,359 cases, 730 probable, 99 deaths and three probable deaths.

Bay County: 29 cases and one death were added; pandemic total stands at 11,116 cases, 712 probable, 349 deaths and 15 probable deaths.

Gladwin County: 13 cases were added; pandemic total stands at 2,046 cases, 405 probable, 58 deaths and four probable deaths.

Isabella County: 37 cases were added; pandemic total stands at 5,675 cases, 994 probable, 97 deaths and five probable deaths.


Saginaw County: 96 cases were added; pandemic total stands at 21,364 cases, 1,459 probable, 616 deaths and 21 probable deaths.
